10 Years on a mission from God...and still going!
10 Years on a mission from God...and still going!Monday, January 15 1 Chronicles 16:7-36
This passage talks about remembering and honoring God for what He has done. What has God accomplished in your life over the last 10 years? How often do you consciously think to give Him glory and honor for those things?
Verse 34 is a powerful reminder of the faithfulness and goodness of God. Spend some time in prayer today thanking God for that goodness. Thank Him specifically for the things you thought of in the first questions.
Tuesday, January 16 2 Corinthians 3:12-18
What is the hope that we profess, according to the verses just preceding this passage? How have you experienced that hope in your recent past (last few years)? What do you suppose verse 16 means? How have you experienced this truth?
The last few verses speak about freedom and being transformed into a reflection of God's glory. How have you experienced freedom in your life, and in what area do you feel most changed "into His likeness?" Thank Jesus for this freedom, since it is "only in Christ" that we can see and experience this joy!
Wednesday, January 17 Joshua 1:6-9
As a church, Cambridge is moving into a season of transition-moving to a new land. What are God's commands to Moses during a similar time in Israel's history? What are the promises?
In this great historical epic, Moses and the people of Israel go for "it." They trust the Lord and follow. When have you been called into an epic adventure? Do you ever/have you ever seen your life that dramatically? Why or why not? What are the elements of that epic adventure (based on this passage from Joshua)?
Thursday, January 18 Psalm 136
Over and over in the Bible we see this refrain: people remembering the works of God in their history. Take some time today to think about the trajectory of your life. From where did God bring you? To where do you see Him taking you? How can you see the enduring love of God in your history?
What is the attitude of the beginning and end of this psalm? What is the promise that the psalmist held onto (v. 21-25)? What is the ultimate refrain in this psalm? When have you felt this truth/promise most powerfully?
Friday, January 19 Matthew 9:35-38
The harvest is plentiful. What was Jesus' reaction to the people? How should that inform the way we see/treat the people with whom we interact?
What do you think is "the harvest?" Why does Jesus refer to it this way? Why harvest? Where is your harvest field? Where is our new harvest field, as a church? How should we be preparing for it? Spend some time today doing just that.
