What is Paul saying in this verse, in your own words? How does it challenge you? How does it encourage you?
How does this verse say a "father deals with his children?" Is this a command only for leaders or for every Christian? Why? Do you have someone who is doing that for you in your life? Are you doing that for someone?
Thursday, August 28 1 John 2:3-6
What are John's instructions here? How does he identify someone who "knows" Jesus? How does this challenge you in your life of faith?
What does it look like to really "walk in Him?" How would you define walking "as Jesus walked?" Who do you know that seems to really be doing so? What can you learn from their life?
Friday, August 29 1 Peter 5:5-7
How does Peter advise younger men to behave? Why is this good advice? Why is it not always easy? Is there an age limit on this advice?
The rest of this passage really defines the Christian life...what does it entail? In which of these areas has God really refined you and encouraged you? Which are you most working on right now? Spend some time talking with God about these things and let Him encourage you.
