How does Thomas react to the news that Jesus is alive and that the others had seen Him? Why do you think he reacts this way? How do you identify with Thomas in this passage?
When you think about your own faith, what causes doubt in your mind? Is that doubt specific to Jesus' resurrection, or more general in nature? What do you pick up from this passage about dealing with doubt constructively?
Tuesday, April 1 Luke 24:36-43
Thomas often gets beat up on for being the "doubter" of the disciples. What does this passage say about the rest of the disciples in the days after Jesus' death? What does Jesus ask them when He first shows up? Why do you think He asks such an obvious question?
Why do you believe in the resurrection? Can you name 3 reasons for your faith? What are some of the intellectual questions you have about the resurrection? How can you find answers to satisfy these?
Wednesday, April 2 Luke 24:44-49
What does Jesus use to convince them that He is alive? Why do you think this was so convincing? How has history (Biblical and otherwise) helped shape your belief that Jesus is, in fact, alive?
In vs. 48-49, what does Jesus challenge the disciples to do with the information they have? Why? How do you (can you) share this with others? What keeps you from doing so?
Thursday, April 3 1 Corinthians 15:1-8
What jumps out at your from this passage? How does verse 1 challenge you, personally? How have you "taken your stand" on the gospel-the news and truth that Jesus is alive?
What are the first-hand things that Paul shares in vs. 3-8? How much can Paul's first-hand experience be trusted? Why or why not? How does it encourage your faith to know this is eyewitness testimony being shared?
Friday, April 4 1 Corinthians 15:12-20
What does Paul say about Christians if the resurrection is not true? Is it startling to read such black and white words about Christianity? What does it mean to put all our faith in something so concretely?
What is Paul's assertion in v. 20? What are the practical implications of Jesus being alive?
