Life Revolution

God is interested in life transformation.  The Committed Christ follower is encouraged to be different from the culture and to know God.  As Paul says, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God\'s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will."  The goal of this spiritual transformation is to know and enjoy the goodness of God at a whole new level.  At Cambridge Church 35 people have been experiencing spiritual growth and significant life transformation through the Life Revolution experience on Wednesday evenings. In January we will be opening the experience to all who are interested at an introductory meeting Wednesday, January 16, at 7pm at the Cambridge Church office.

Life Revolution is designed to provide 5 essentials for being a mature Christ follower.

Knowledge-of basic foundational truths from scripture regarding who Christ is and what He wants for us.

Skills--practical ways to live out the Christian life on a daily basis.

Character-becoming people who have the heart and character of Jesus.

Vision-picturing ourselves taking 1-3 others under our wing and mentoring them with what we\'ve learned.

Relationship-developing  healthy relationships with a mentor and fellow Christ-followers. Building relationships with people who are disconnected from Christ with the hope of helping them become disciples.

How to know if this ministry is for you?  First ask, am I a well formed disciple?

Give yourself the following test.

Give 3 reasons why Jesus is the Son of God.

Give 5 reasons you believe the Bible  is reliable.

Can you share your faith in Jesus in  a coherent way in less than 3 minutes?

Do you have a plan to resist temptation when it comes along?      

How can you be empowered by the Holy Spirit to walk with God on a daily basis?

If you answered all the above then the next "self"  test is:

Name 1-3 people you have taught the above information to in the last 6 months.

If you haven't shared what you know in a coherent way with someone else then this ministry will give you the tools and encouragement to do so.  Here are some of the specifics regarding the evenings.

Format: 7:00 - 7:30pm - Jay teaches principles 

              7:30 - 8:30pm - Mentor groups of 4-5 people to discuss, apply and pray.      

Dates and times:  Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm

Intro Night: January 16:  Come hear the specifics, see the materials and hear the requirements.

Spring Semester: February 6-April 30   

                  Sessions 10-20 (skipping Ash Wednesday and Spring Break)

Fall Semester Sessions 1-9:  Mid September, 2008

Basic Requirements:

Weekly homework

Weekly scripture memory

Accountability to a mentor and mentor group

80% attendance (may miss 2 of first 9 and 2 of second 10)

Arrive early, 6:50pm, so we can start by 7:00pm

Life Revolution is a 2 semester commitment.  If you are jumping in with us in January, you do sessions 10-20 and finish with sessions 1-9 in the fall of 2008.
